MFT's Die-namics Essential Cover-Up die

Recently, I had fun making cards using the MFT essential cover-up die. It's a great die for combining 2 pattern papers. I like adding a small sentiment and die cut embellishment. Quick and easy.

Reverse Confetti sketch #57 card challenge

I usually only make a couple cards for teacher appreciation week. But this year, I'd like to make enough to give to the entire staff at my daughter's school. It will definitely be a challenge, but I think I can do it. I still have a couple months to get them done. Here's card #1. I used the February sketch from Reverse Confetti and some fun school themed stamp sets.

Doodlebug Design's Easter Express - 36 cards from one 6x6 paper pad

Easter is right around the corner, so I decided to get started on Easter cards. I used an older Doodlebug Design 6x6 paper pad called Easter Express. It's a fun collection full of cute designs and soft pastel colors. There are several sheets of Easter images and sentiments included in the paper pad. I used quite a few of the cut aparts this time. Since I will be giving all of the cards to a local retirement home, I only used the Easter sentiments.

I used my 6x6 Paper Pad Tutorial and one paper pad to make 36 cards.

The video is sped up 7 times since the full recording time was just over 5 hours, not including any of my planning, prep, or die cutting time. Watch the video below or click HERE to see it on YouTube.

In addition to using the 6x6 paper pad, I also used 7 sheets of  8 1/2" x 11" and 13 sheets of  12" x 12" solid colored cardstock.

Here are close up pictures of the cards I made, including sketches and measurements. Operation Write Home sketches are the only ones that already provide measurements. For all the other sketches, I simply figure the measurements out on my own, for what works for me. All of my cards are A2 size. Go HERE to see my video explaining how I determine card sketch measurements. All cards are made using Doodlebug Design's Easter Express -  6x6 paper pad.

Thanks a Latte - MFT's Die-namics Essential Cover- Up

I make cards for a small local charity. They need a lot of  Thank You and Thinking of You cards. I like to give them a variety of different cards, but it's always fun to include a few girly cards. I love this coffee and stamp set from Lil Inker Designs. Even though I live in Washington state, I don't care for coffee at all. But a lot of people who live here are big coffee fans. I'd rather have a nice cup of chai rooibos tea.

MFT Die-namics Collage Cover-up

I have a new favorite background die. It's made by My Favorite Things and it's perfect for using the last scraps from a 6x6 paper pad. Although this card was actually the first card I made using an older My Mind's Eye 6x6. I love that I can include 9 different paper designs and use the rectangular box for the sentiment. The squares are a little larger than an inch. And all the squares are the same size. That'll be super helpful since not all background dies are that way. I made this birthday card for a crafty friend.

Cards in Envy - Give it Some Heart

It's time for a new card challenge over at Cards in Envy. The theme is Give it Some Heart. We want to see cards that have at least one heart on them.

I made a little scene using some fun Lawn Fawn goodies. When my son was younger, he was always capturing bugs and little critters and keeping them in jars or boxes until I made him release them. I'm sure he would have loved finding a chameleon in our backyard.

Be sure to check out the rest of the Cards in Envy design team's cards. I'd love for you to play along with our card challenge. Just remember to keep your card fairly flat so it fits nicely in an envelope.

Carta Bella's Flora No. 2 - 30 cards from one 6x6 paper pad

Last year Carta Bella released their Flora No. 1 paper collection. It had such lovely floral designs. So when I saw Carta Bella was releasing Flora No. 2 this year, I couldn't resist buying it. If you missed my 6x6 video using the Flora No. 1 collection, you can see it HERE.
The Flora No. 2 collection is a very feminine collection full of cheerful flowers and uplifting sentiments. I decided to use many of the image/sentiment cut aparts this time. There are a lot of busy floral designs, so most of the sketches I chose feature only 2 design papers. Otherwise, the patterns would be competing with one another too much. Including cardstock layers also helps add contrast when working with such busy designs. And anyone who has been following me, knows I love using layers on my cards. 😊

I used my 6x6 Paper Pad Tutorial and one paper pad to make 30 cards.

The video is sped up 7 times since the full recording time was just over 4 hours, not including any of my planning, prep, or die cutting time. Watch the video below or click HERE to see it on YouTube.

In addition to using the 6x6 paper pad, I also used 14 sheets of  8 1/2" x 11" and 3 sheets of  12" x 12" solid colored cardstock.

Here are the pictures of the cards I made, including sketches and measurements. Operation Write Home sketches are the only ones that already provide measurements. For all the other sketches, I simply figure the measurements out on my own, for what works for me. All of my cards are A2 size. Go HERE to see my video explaining how I determine card sketch measurements. All cards are made using Carta Bella's Flora No. 2 -  6x6 paper pad.
