Doodlebug's Cream & Sugar - Part Five

Welcome to Part Five in my newest 6x6 Series. I'm using Doodlebug Design's Cream & Sugar collection to make cards using my 6x6 Paper Pad Tutorial.

I just love the fun and whimsical food images in the paper pad. It was perfect for adding some coffee and donut die cuts I already own. I replaced the circle element of the Reverse Confetti sketch with the die cut images. That's the fun part of sketches. Changing them to fit your own card vision.

I made 4 cards using this sketch.

I was really trying to pick sketches that wouldn't hide the darling pattern paper. This sketch from Mojo Monday was prefect for highlighting the fun tea cup paper along with the stamped image.

I made 2 cards using this sketch.

Cards in Envy - Black & White

Welcome to the second card challenge of March for Cards in Envy! The theme is Black & White - with just a touch of color. What a fun color theme!

I decided to use this cute camera stamp set from My Favorite Things and cover the background with cameras. Of course, my extra color had to be pink.

Doodlebug's Cream & Sugar - Part Three

Welcome to Part Three in my newest 6x6 Series. I'm using Doodlebug Design's Cream & Sugar collection to make cards using my 6x6 Paper Pad Tutorial.

I love using lots of layers on my cards, so I really enjoy card sketches with lots of different elements. This sketch is an older one from Sketch Saturday that I've always enjoyed using. I do not design card sketches, but I do figure out measurements for A2 size cards.

I made 2 cards using this sketch.

Doodlebug's Cream & Sugar - Part One

Welcome to Part One of my newest 6x6 Series.

It is so hard to resist buying Doodlebug Designs 6x6 paper pads. They make such cute stuff! So, I decided to use my 6x6 Paper Pad Tutorial with the Cream & Sugar collection. The paper pad has a great mix of pattern and tone-on-tone papers, which is great when doing my tutorial.

When I'm getting ready to start a 6x6 paper pad, I usually have a few sketches I plan on using. But after 3 or 4 sketches, I just take it one sketch at a time. It's too hard to completely plan out my cards since I won't know what size paper scraps I will have left.

I really wanted to try this sketch from Mojo Monday since I knew the fun Doodlepop stickers would work perfectly with it. Most sketch sites do not provide measurements, so I simply figure them out for an A2 size card. Go HERE to see how I figure out measurements.

I made 2 cards using this sketch.

Thank you - Denver Broncos color theme

I recently needed a thank you card for a friend who is a huge Denver Broncos fan. I didn't have any 6x6 paper pad with those specific colors, so I decided to simply color an image using blue and orange. (By the way, I had to do a google search for the specific colors since I'm not a sports person.)

My card inspiration came from Joy Taylor. I love her simple card design using the stamps from MFT and knew it would be perfect to CASE.

Scalloped border die cut - My Favorite Things
Markers - Copic
Ink - Memento
Wink of Stella glitter pen
Sequins - from stash

Please try to remember to give credit to the original crafter whenever you are inspired from their work. I know most crafter's really appreciate the shout out. 😊 If I don't recall the original crafter, I won't post my card because it's not fair to take credit for someone else's work.

Mojo Monday sketch #487

It's another dreary rainy day in western Washington. We've had a lot of those lately. I don't usually mind the rain, but goodness, I am ready for some sunshine. So I figured I'd make a cheerful sunny card using the newest Mojo Monday sketch. I think I'll send it to a local friend who's also ready for some sunshine.

This little piggy says, Happy Birthday!

The cute little piggies from Reverse Confetti were fun to color. I used a die cut from My Favorite Things for the background and inlaid it with the purple polka paper. I wanted a little extra sparkle on the card, so I used a Wink of Stella glitter pen on all the purple pattern paper.

Cards in Envy - Keep it Simple

Welcome to the first Cards in Envy challenge of March. The theme is 'Keep it Simple'. This could be a one layer card or perhaps a card that only takes 10 minutes to make.
I decided to make a simple watercolor background for my sentiment along with some pretty pink sequins. The stitched background adds a little extra detail to the simple card design.

Carta Bella's Flora No. 1 - 6x6 cards

Over the past 6 months, I have been sending out Kindness cards. These are cards with friendly or uplifting sentiments. I send them to random people and many times anonymously. There are so many different stamp companies that have awesome Kindness stamp sets available now. I've purchased quite a few fun sets and thought it would be fun to use my 6x6 Paper Pad Tutorial and make all Kindness cards. Since I generally give cards to females, the Flora No.1 collection from Carta Bella was perfect. Lots of feminine colors and pretty flowers. I made a total of 33 cards.

I recorded the entire 6x6 process. The video is sped up 9 times. The actual card-making time was around 6 hours, not including any die cutting time. And since I get many requests to make videos of single cards, I created a separate video for each sketch used. Go HERE to see the first video in the series.

I used 5 sheets of 12" x 12" solid cardstock and 16 sheets of 8 1/2" x 11" solid cardstock along with the 6x6 paper pad. Here are all the scraps leftover.

Here are the pictures of the cards I made, including sketches and measurements. Operation Write Home sketches are the only ones that already provide measurements. For all the other sketches, I simply figure the measurements out on my own, for what works for me. All of my cards are A2 size. Go HERE to see my video explaining how I determine card sketch measurements. All cards are made using Carta Bella's Flora No.1 6x6 paper pad.
