Mojo Monday Sketch #481

I am a huge fan of photography. So when I saw this set from Sweet Stamp Shop, I couldn't resist buying it. It's a small stamp set, but includes some wonderful and positive sentiments. It worked perfectly for the newest Mojo Monday sketch.

My Mind's Eye - Blush 6x6 cards

After the busy Christmas season, it has taken me a few weeks to get back to regular crafting again. Using my 6x6 Paper Pad Tutorial with a My Mind's Eye 6x6 really seemed to help me get in the crafty mood. I did not record a video for this paper pad. But don't worry, I'm getting things all ready to start a new video soon.

I made a total of 21 cards using My Mind's Eye - Blush 6x6 paper pad.

Kindness Quilt card

I don't think I will ever get tired of using this quilt die cut from My Favorite Things. It's so easy and fun to use. And it's perfect for using up the last scraps of a 6x6 paper pad. That's exactly what I did. I made 7 quilt cards and now the My Mind's Eye 6x6 paper pad is no more. I did not record a video for this paper pad, but I am getting things ready to start recording another video (or two) really soon. I will also be sharing all the cards I made from the My Mind's Eye paper pad in an upcoming blog post.

Always Under Pressure - Cure Glaucoma

January is Glaucoma Awareness month. It's probably a disease many people don't think about very often. But did you know that over 3 million people in the United States have glaucoma? It's called the "sneak thief of sight" because there are no symptoms and once the vision is lost, it's gone for good. Glaucoma is the leading cause of preventable blindness. While there is currently no cure, vision loss can be slowed or prevented with early detection.
I was diagnosed with glaucoma in my late 30's. I'm so grateful for medical advancements that made it possible to detect the disease in the early stages. What will this mean for my future? I may go blind, or I may not. I just don't know. But the diagnosis has pushed me to becoming a better photographer and wanting to see more of God's beauty everyday. My family and I started hiking together a few years ago. And now it's something we all look forward to doing together. Family time is always a good thing.
I share this with you as a reminder to get your eyes checked every year. It's a simple and pain-free test. And it just may save your sight.

Sending Hedgehugs

I print out card sketches and store them in a composition book. Most sketch sites do not include measurements, so I simply figure out measurements for an A2 size card. I then write the measurements directly onto the sketch. That way, the next time I use that specific sketch, I have the measurements all ready to go.
For today's card, I used an older My Favorite Things sketch. I know I've used this sketch many times, although it's been a long time. I even had the measurements written down. Sometimes it's fun to go back and use an older sketch.

Cards in Envy - Pink & Gray card challenge

Hello and welcome to the second challenge of January for Cards in Envy. It's a color theme this time. Pink and Gray. And I couldn't be happier! (In case you haven't noticed, I really like pink.)
I used a fun coffee stamp set from Lil Inker Designs. I decided to stick with the color theme and stamped the coffee in gray ink. It may not be the most appealing looking latte, but I think it works fine for the card.

Make sure to check out the wonderful cards from the other Cards in Envy DT members. If you have time this month, I'd love for you to play along. Just remember to keep your cards fairly flat so it'd fit in an envelope nicely.

Mojo Monday sketch #479

Another perfect sentiment stamp, in my opinion. I think this card would work well for so many different occasions. I used a fun Mojo Monday sketch and just figured out the measurement myself.

Kindness Enclosed

For cards I plan on mailing, I do try to keep them pretty flat. It's definitely no fun paying the extra postage for bulky cards. I haven't gotten back to sending out Kindness cards since before the holidays. But, it's near the top of my list.

Everyday is a Special Occasion

I rarely use sentiments that are part of the design paper. But this one just fit perfectly with the sketch and I love the image, as well. I kept my card very simple to really showcase the image and sentiment.

More Love Notes

I have come across so many wonderful sentiment stamp sets lately. It's so hard to resist adding them to my collection. I obviously couldn't resist this perfect sentiment from Sweet Stamp Shop. And the little envelope stamps that come in the set are just darling.

Reverse Confetti sketch #44 card challenge

With my kiddos back in school again after Christmas break, I have a little more crafty time for myself. I'm definitely loving the colors in the My Mind's Eye 6x6 paper pad I've been using. You just can't go wrong with PINK! I also used the newest sketch from Reverse Confetti for my card inspiration.
