Using the Reverse Confetti Squared Off Cover Panel die cut with scraps

For my last set of cards using a 6x6 paper pad, I finished off the scraps using a fun die cut from Reverse Confetti. The card was a lot of people's favorite, so I decided to do a quick video showing how I made the card. Watch the video below or click HERE to see it on YouTube.

I used Reverse Confetti's Squared Off Cover Panel die cut and a few paper scraps from Authentique's Lively collection. The die cut is perfect for using up the teeny tiny paper scraps. It has 20 small squares that are about 5/8". Not all the squares are the exact same size though. For die cuts like this, I prefer to use the inlaid die technique. It gives the card an intricate, yet flat finish. Perfect if you plan on mailing your card, which I do quite often.

You're a Lifesaver

Several weeks ago, one of my husband's coworkers literally saved his life. It was during lunchtime. A piece of food got caught in my husband's throat and he started choking. Actual choking that cut off his air supply. He said he started to see stars as the world began going black. That's where his coworker stepped up and performed the heimlich maneuver. Thankfully, it worked.
My husband asked me to make a thank you card. I've never actually made a card thanking someone for saving a life before. And since I couldn't really focus on an idea, I decided to search Pinterest. I found a card from Joanne Basile, a former MFT design team member. I completely CASEd her card. I'm grateful to Joanne for posting a perfect card design so I could think about my husband and not about the card while making it.
As a crafter, I don't think there's anything wrong with CASEing (Copy and Share Everything) another crafter's work. Just remember to give credit. We need to support one another and not just steal each others work.

Mojo Monday sketch #449

There are 3 summer birthdays in my household, with my son's sneaking in just a few days before fall begins. My son is a teenager and it can be rather difficult finding gifts for him. But, he's still a boy and loves playing with nerf or lasertag guns. For his birthday card, I searched my paper stash for something that he may appreciate. I found this fun pattern paper with laser guns and it seemed perfect. (The card did make my boy smile.)

Carta Bella's Hello Fall - cards from 6x6 paper pad

After a super dry and hot summer here in the Pacific Northwest, I am so ready for fall weather. It has always been my favorite season and I look forward to it every year. I love the rich colors, cooler temperatures, and the crispness in the air. And, there are less bugs!

I love autumn colors almost as much as I love the color pink. Almost. It's fun buying the new pretty fall 6x6 paper pads, especially since they are usually perfect for masculine and feminine cards. The first fall 6x6 I used is the Hello Fall collection from Carta Bella.

A total of 35 cards were made using one 6x6 paper pad and my 6x6 Paper Pad Tutorial.

I recorded my entire process of disappearing the 6x6 paper pad. The video is sped up 7 times since the full recording time was just over 5 hours, not including any of my planning, prep, or die cutting time. Watch the video below or click HERE to see it on YouTube.

In addition to using the 6x6 paper pad, I also used 1 sheet of  8 1/2" x 11" and 14 sheets of  12" x 12" solid colored cardstock. I had very few leftover scraps this time after using the Squared off cover panel die cut from Reverse Confetti.

Here are the pictures of the cards I made, including sketches and measurements. Operation Write Home sketches are the only ones that already provide measurements. For all the other sketches, I simply figure the measurements out on my own, for what works for me. All of my cards are A2 size. Go HERE to see my video explaining how I determine card sketch measurements. All cards are made using Carta Bella's Hello Fall 6x6 paper pad.

Cards in Envy - Easy as 1, 2, 3

Welcome to another card challenge for Cards in Envy. The theme is Easy as 1, 2, 3. We want to see simple cards that don't require a lot of extra steps.
My card is very clean and simple. I used a die cut giraffe and sentiment stamp from My Favorite Things. But I also made sure to use nice heavy weight cardstock so the card still has a nice, solid feel to it. Good cardstock can really improve the quality of a card.

Be sure to check out the rest of the Cards in Envy design team's cards. I'd love for you to play along with our card challenge. Just remember to keep your card fairly flat so it fits nicely in an envelope.

Reverse Confetti's True Love - cards from 6x6 paper pad

I really do prefer to use double sided 6x6 paper pads. But I just loved the colors in the True Love collection from Reverse Confetti. Although it's not double sided, the paper quality is really nice and the designs are fun. Plus, this collection has lots of pink. No complaints from me about all the extra pink. I had so much fun coloring and paper piecing a few pink critters for my cards.

I made a total of 30 cards using one 6x6 paper pad and my 6x6 Paper Pad Tutorial.

I had very few scraps leftover this time.

Here are the pictures of the cards I made, including sketches and measurements. Operation Write Home sketches are the only ones that already provide measurements. For all the other sketches, I simply figure the measurements out on my own, for what works for me. All of my cards are A2 size, except for the couple of square cards. Go HERE to see my video explaining how I determine card sketch measurements. All cards are made using Reverse Confetti's True Love 6x6 paper pad.
