6x6 Blog Post Series - Part One

Now that the holidays are over, I think it's time for me to disappear another 6x6 paper pad. I'll be doing a series of blog posts while I use my 6x6 Paper Pad Tutorial. I decided to use a paper pad by Lily Bee Designs called Buttercup. I generally use 24 double-sided paper, but thought I'd do something different this time. The colors in this paper pad are just lovely, but will still work for some gender neutral cards.

The first sketch I chose is Reverse Confetti #32. I do not design the sketches, but I do figure out  measurements for A2 size cards.

I made a total of 3 similar cards using this sketch.

Paper - Lily Bee Designs - Buttercup
Stitched circle die cut - Lil Inker Designs
Scalloped circle die cut - Spellbinders
Stamp - Paper Smooches
Embossing folder - Darice
Ink - Memento
Pearl Pen - Viva Decor

Thanks for visiting my blog today!

  1. So glad you are posting these, Kristie! Where will you send your cards now that OWH is done?

    1. Thank you, Tricia! I still don't have any specific organization where I send my cards. I make far less cards now that OWH is closed. I do donate many cards to my church though. They've always sent out store bought cards. But now, they only use my handmade ones.

  4. I LOVE your 6x6 pad tutorials! I've started one, but it takes me quite a lot of maneuvering to get chunks of time to work on it. I am having trouble with the "wasted" paper under some of the layers, especially the centers of matting papers. Help me rationalize not punching something out of them first :)

    1. I'm a stay at home mom of 2 kiddos. So, I work on cards when I have a chance. As far as the "wasted" paper, I look around my craft room and see sooooo much paper, I guess it doesn't really bother me. Although, I do sometimes cut the layer for my circle die cuts using the background layer piece. Especially if I'm running low on a particular color.

    2. Thank you so much for your reply, I appreciate that you took the time to answer me! I totally understand that once-over of the craft room moment....Maybe I should try to get through this one paper pad your way first, then see if I even need to make changes. Off to buy a large pack of black matting paper!! Thank you again, Kristie!

  5. I have done the 6x6 challenge several times now - I love it. I watch your videos often for inspiration....i seriously love the challenge of using up the entire paper pack. The most cards I have done is 32 from a pack.

    1. Thank you, Sue! I'm glad I can provide some card inspiration for you. I think the most cards I have made using a 24-sheet 6x6 paper pad, is 37 or 38. Although, my end goal isn't to make as many cards as possible. I just feel the need to use one paper pad until it's all gone. (My little OCD in card-making.)
