My First Shaker Card

I have never made a shaker card before, so I figured it was time to give it a try. I bought the Project Life Fuse tool to make custom pockets for my PL scrapbooks, but I knew people used it for shaker cards too. The Fuse tool is really easy to use and worked perfectly to seal in the glitter mess. Although, I think I'll do a little less glitter next time. But I love how the card turned out and I even added a little extra sparkle to the butterflies with a Wink of Stella glitter pen. I'm giving this card to one of my crafty friends since it's her birthday this month.

Fight Like a Girl - Quilt card

My younger sister was diagnosed with breast cancer last year. She fought hard with chemo, radiation, and multiple surgeries. And she has been in remission for the past 5 months. It hasn't been easy and she is still recovering. Cancer is such a horrible disease that no one should ever have to suffer through.

Ribbon die cut - Paper Smooches
Stamp - Paper Smooches

I'm entering my card in the Words 2 Scrap By 'Fight Like a Girl' card challenge.

Gold Season

Sandy Allnock is currently offering a free Go For the Gold online card class. It consists of 7 different videos that focus on using some amazing gold products for card making. She provides great comparisons of a variety of products. THIS card in lesson #4 inspired me to pull out my Finetec gold paints and make a Christmas card. I loved Sandy's tip on making your own gold paper by simply painting the outer edge of your background paper with gold paints. Now my background paper matches perfectly with the pretty gold on my card.

You can see the pretty gold shimmer a little better in this picture.
