Monster Hugs

This is the first time I have inked up this Lawn Fawn monster set. I had originally intended to do some paper piecing on these cute lil' monsters, but I didn't think any of the patterns in the 6x6 paper pad looked quite right. So, I pulled out some Crayola pencils and colored. (For those that know me, that is a rare thing.) I love how it turned out with the fun and bright colors. I made 2 of these and they are the first cards from the newest 6x6 paper pad I'm using.

paper - Doodlebug - hip hip hooray
stamps - Lawn Fawn

Gold Love You

This is the Valentine's Day card I made for my husband. I decided to use non-traditional valentine colors and try out some new watercolor paints I recently purchased. This card is way out of the box for me since I painted and heat embossed on it. It definitely took me quite a while to complete, but I just love how it turned out. My husband even noticed the extra effort that went into making his card.

The pretty gold shimmer shows up better in this picture. Love these paints, but I definitely need more practice with them.

OWH ODBD and Mid-Month Throwdown

It's been a couple of weeks since I have made cards, so it was so nice to have a crafty day with friends today. I mostly worked on a few cards kits I had previously put together. But I made sure to work on the latest Operation Write Home card challenges. This card is for the ODBD animal challenge and also for the Mid-Month Throwdown cards for kids challenge.

Basic Grey's Bowtie's - 36 cards from one 6x6 paper pad

I was recently given Basic Grey's Bowties 6x6 paper pad as sort of a challenge to use it up doing my tutorial. The fellow OWHer told me it was the weirdest paper ever. She was right about that. The paper pad has cars, tools, bugs, rocket ships, yet no bowties, even though the name of the paper collection is Bowties. I am really not a fan of Basic Grey paper, but it worked perfectly for making a bunch of masculine cards to donate to Operation Write Home. This 6x6 paper pad had 36 single sided sheets in it. I really prefer the double sided 24 sheet ones. But, I took on the challenge and made a total of 45 cards with it.
