OWH sketch #218 card challenge

I finished 2 cards this morning. The current OWH card sketch and the Midweek Throwdown yellow and purple color challenge. I love this sentiment stamp and the sketch was just perfect to showcase it.

paper - Echo Park - Dots & Stripes
stamp - Jillibean Soup
border die cut - Lawn Fawn
heart punch - Martha Stewart
Versafine ink

For the MWT, I had to really search for some purple paper. I own far too many 6x6's and not one of them has purple in it. So I turned to my Project Life cards and found one kit that had purple.

OWH - MWT - Circle Galore

This week's Midweek Throwdown over on the Stars & Stamps blog is to make cards with lots of circles. I used a favorite sketch for when I'm down to just scraps of the current 6x6 paper pad.

stamp - The Stamps of Life
stitched die cuts - Lil Inker Designs
Pearl pen - Viva Decor
Memento ink

And here are a few other cards I made this week with the same paper. The sketch was designed for a square card, but I turned it into an A2 size since most of my cards are donated to Operation Write Home.

It's time for the second card challenge over at Cards in Envy. I think everyone will love this challenge. It's Anything Goes on an A2 card challenge. Super easy and fun, right?
Since my younger sister is currently battling breast cancer, I've been sending her uplifting cards a few times a week. This is one of the recent ones she received.

Fairies and Mustaches

I made cards for 3 different challenges today. The first is for the OWH Midweek Throwdown - Scrappy Backgrounds using the newest Mojo Monday sketch. This one works great for a masculine card.

stamp - Hero Arts
embossing folder - Cuttlebug
circle die cuts - Spellbinders
brads - Recollections
Versafine ink

The second card is for the current Lavinia Stamps challenge - Add Something Pink. This is the first card I have ever added sequins, and I really like them. I'm not sure if they will hold enough to donate to Operation Write Home, though. But it was still fun to make.

OWH sketch #215 card challenge

It's time for the new sketch over on OWH's Stars and Stamps blog. They are up to #215 already. I decided to make a masculine card for the sketch using some fun cowboyish papers from Carta Bella. The sentiment is a modification from a Hero Arts OWH fundraiser set. When I first bought the set, there were 2 stamps that had deep gashes in them. Hero Arts was awesome and replaced the entire set for me. So, I decided to cut the YO out of the YOU are My World stamp for a perfect guy sentiment.

paper - Carta Bella - Giddy Up
stamp - Hero Arts
Pearl pen - Viva Decor
Memento ink

Here is another card I made using the Carta Bella 6x6 paper pad.

paper - Carta Bella - Giddy Up
horse stamp - not sure (I borrowed it from a friend)
sentiment stamp - My Favorite Things
bling - Hero Arts

I started donating my handmade cards to Operation Write Home in January of 2011. And today, I packed my 5,000th card for them. Wow! I can't believe I've made that many cards in just over 3 years. And here's the milestone card.

Operation Write Home Die-Versions Blog Hop

Welcome to my stop on the OWH Die-Versions Bloghop. If you just came from Lori's blog, you're on the right track. If you would like to go to the beginning of the hop, you can find it HERE.

I'm so excited to be a part of this bloghop to help show the new Operation Write Home fundraiser dies by Die-Versions. I am such a big fan of using die cuts on my cards and these are just super fun ones.

I used one of the cute hexagon sentiment dies with some patriotic papers for my first card

paper - Doodlebug - Stars & Stripes
die cut - Die-Versions
bling - from stash

My second card is an AnyHero card featuring the dog tag die cut. In this card, I will be writing a letter of gratitude to send to our deployed heroes.

paper - Basic Grey - Archaic
stamp - Stampers Best
die cut - Die-Versions
bling - from stash
Versafine and Tim Holtz ink

OWH is giving away some blog candy to a random commenter in the bloghop, so be sure to leave some love at each stop to qualify to win.

Now it's time to hop over to Archana's blog for some more wonderful inspiration. Thank you Die-Version for your support of Operations Write Home and the men and women serving our country.

Cards from Echo Park's Here & Now 6x6 Paper Pad

It's been several months since I've posted a picture of all the cards I made from one 6x6 paper pad, so I'm sharing my latest one. (If you aren't familiar with my 6x6 tutorial, the link is HERE. ) I used Echo Park's Here & Now paper. I really enjoyed the fun, vivid colors in this paper pad. The final card count was 27. My goal is not to make as many cards as possible. I just like to keep using the same 6x6 until it is all gone and no scraps are leftover. Then I'll start the same process with a new 6x6 pad.

Here's a closer look at each card.

Check out my 6x6 Paper Pad Tutorial video HERE.
