OWH MWT - Color challenge

Happy Thanksgiving! I'll be heading over to my parents' house today for dinner. But first, I wanted to make a card today. The Midweek Throwdown for OWH is a white on white color challenge. I love the elegant look of white cards, but I'll admit I don't make them very often. Since I"m still working on my personal Christmas cards, I used the current challenge to make another one. Please forgive the poor picture, the bling is clear not black. (It's hard to photograph a white card.)

OWH sketch #200 card challenge

It's a beautiful, sunny day here in Washington. A little chilly, but the sun makes it all better. I've been enjoying looking at the blue sky while I made my card using OWH's 200th sketch. Even though it's well past the time to send holiday cards to Operation Write Home, I still need to make my own Christmas cards. So, that's another card done while doing the sketch challenge.

Flutter By Wednesday #262

Happy Wednesday! It's time for a sketch challenge over at Flutter By Wednesday. I always love playing with new sketches, and this one is so fun with the crooked rectangle element.
It's getting quite chilly outside now we're heading toward the end of November. So I chose some cheery and bright colors to remind us all of spring.

Doodlebug - Boys Only 6x6 cards

I finished the Doodlebug - Boys Only 6x6 paper pad by creating 21 cards. I just love the bright and cheery colors. All but 1 card are being donated to Operation Write Home.

Here's a picture of all the cards together.

And here are some individual pictures. The others cards are in previous blog posts.

This card was a CASE from Paper Smooches DT Laurie Schmidlin.

Now, I really need to start working on my own Christmas cards.

Flutter By Wednesday #261

It's another fun challenge day over at Flutter By Wednesday. This week is an OPEN challenge. Anything goes as long as there is a butterfly or fairy on your card. Since I'm still just loving my new fairy stamps, I decided to use another one for my card this week. I even added some Stickles to her wings since this card will be for my niece's birthday and not Operation Write Home. (No glitter allowed on OWH cards.)

Mojo Monday sketch #319

I'm so happy that I found a little bit of time today to make a few cards. And I'm really liking this cute and bright boy paper. I need to always remember to make more boy cards, even though it's always so fun to make them pink and frilly. Here's my latest card using the newest Mojo Monday sketch.

OWH - MWT - AnyHero Holiday Cards

The OWH Midweek Throwdown challenge is to make an AnyHero Holiday card and include a message inside for our deployed military. I haven't been quite in the Christmas card-making mood yet. But after making this card, I think I'm ready to start working on my own Christmas cards. Yay for inspiration! Here's my finished card, including the note to our heroes.

Flutter By Wednesday #260

Happy Wednesday! It's time for another challenge over at Flutter By Wednesday. This week the challenge is to use brown on your card, along with either a butterfly or fairy. And for the first time ever, I'm using a fairy on my card. Since making the FBW design team, I figured I needed to start using some fairies. So I searched online for some fairy silhouette stamps to use since I don't color. I found some amazing ones at Lavinia Stamps in the UK. Here is my first card using one of their stamps.

OWH sketch #197 card challenge

It's Sunday, so that means a new sketch on the Operation Write Home blog. Only a few more weeks, and they will be at sketch #200. Wow! That's a lot of sketches! For my card today, I decided to do a little paper piecing on this cute carrot by Paper Smooches.

ODBD - November Challenge

It's a new month and that means a new challenge by Our Daily Bread Designs over at Operation Write Home. The November challenge is for Valentines or Love cards, which is perfect because the deadline for Valentine's Day cards is December 31st. I generally stick to making love cards though, because that way they can be used anytime of year.
I'm getting down to just scraps of my Doodlebug 6x6 paper pad, but I had enough to make my card for the challenge.
