Flutter by Wednesday card challenge #254

This week's card challenge over at Flutter by Wednesday is a sketch challenge. And it's a fun one with a nice large oval element in the center. Here's the sketch.

Here's my take on the sketch. I decided to finally ink up this wonderful Operation Write Home fundraiser stamp set and do some paper piecing. I really like how it turned out. And I made sure to include a couple of butterflies, since all cards for the challenge must include either a butterfly or fairy.

My Mind's Eye - Ruby - Lot of Cards

It's been awhile since I posted a pictures of all the cards I made from one 6x6 paper pad, so here's one I just finished today. I used My Mind's Eye - Ruby, and made a total of 33 cards. Here's the whole lot of them.

And here's the closeups of each style of card.

OWH sketch #191 card challenge

Happy first day of autumn! This is definitely my favorite season. I just love the cooler temperatures and the pretty colorful leaves. Plus, my allergies finally start to ease up for me, so that's a plus.

Today is a sketch challenge on the OWH blog, and it's a fun one. I always enjoy using banners on my cards. I know it's prime Christmas card season for OWH, but I just haven't been in the mood to make those yet. So, I decided to go with a love card since those are always needed.

OWH Design Bootcamp - White Space

This month's OWH Design Bootcamp was all about using white space to frame the focal point on our cards. Now, I don't always use a lot of white space on my card, but when I find a simplier CAS card, I do enjoy the final look.

Cards in Envy - A Little Bit Retro!

It's time for the 2nd card challenge for September over at Cards in Envy. It's time to go Retro! The challenge is to create a card featuring a style, fashion or design from the past. I'll admit, this was a bit of a struggle for me. I planned on using the typewriter stamp, but I really had to search through my paper stash for something that felt old-fashioned. I think this paper from Crate Paper works very well, especially after I distressed the edges.

I decided to make a second card after another Design Team member mentioned October Afternoon papers. I remembered I had this space themed 8x8 paper pad with a sheet of old ads. I think it definitely fits the Retro category.

OWH sketch #189 card challenge

I can't believe it's been over 2 weeks since I have made a card. Yikes! But there have been some fun times. The last week of August, my husband treated me to a trip to Hawaii to celebrate my birthday. (He's so sweet!) Then it was the first week of school for my kids. My son started 5th grade, while my daughter started her first year of preschool. So, lots of fun and busy, busy, busy. But this morning, I got crafty while everyone else was still sleeping. I made a card using this week's OWH sketch.

I was originally going to put a birthday sentiment on this card to tie in with all the stars. But I know Sandy always needs more love cards, so I changed it to a love card instead. I'm hoping the stars and hearts still work well together.

OWH Birthday Bash 2013 with Unity Stamps

Hello, and welcome to my stop in OWH's Blog Skip to help celebrate their birthday. If you just came from Paula's Blog, you are on the right track. Today, I made two AnyHero cards using some wonderful sentiment stamps by Unity Stamps. I kept my cards gender neutral, that way they will be perfect for all recipients. AnyHero cards are a simple, yet greatly appreciated, way for us to let our Heroes know, they have not been forgotten. I write about my daily life, the funny things my kids have recently done, and finish with words of gratitude.

Cards in Envy - Make it Manly! card challenge

The first challenge of September over at Cards in Envy is to create a masculine card. I thought this lighthouse stamp would be perfect for a guy card. Especially because it still looks good uncolored. I was hoping the embossed background would look like burlap, but I'm not sure it worked out that way.
