OWH Midweek Throwdown Clean & Simple card challenge

This week's OWH Midweek Throwdown challenge is to make a Clean & Simple card. It always sounds so easy, but for me, it's not. I stamped the sentiment 3 times before getting a clear image. I use nice and heavy cardstock, so even with this simple design, I think it looks very nice.

OWH sketch #178 card challenge

This week's OWH sketch challenge is actually based on a card I made back in April. I had used a Sketch Saturday square sketch and modified it into an A2 size. I find lots of fun square sketches on different sketch sites. But since I rarely make square cards, I just change it up to work for me. Here's my original card.

And here's OWH sketch #178.

I made a bright and cheery love card today using this same sketch. Isn't it a fun one?

Cards in Envy - Stitched Up card challenge

The card challenge over at Cards in Envy is Stitched Up (Real or Faux). What a fun challenge because I just love to use stitching on my cards. I really enjoy using my sewing machine, but my stitches aren't always very straight. Fortunately, there are lots of  fun die cuts with faux stitching. I also used the current Mojo Monday sketch for my card.

Art Impressions OWH Blog Hop

Welcome to my stop in the Art Impressions OWH blog hop. Art Impressions has designed two fabulous fundraiser stamp sets for Operation Write Home. And 25% of the proceeds from the stamp sets will be donated to OWH; so you are definitely going to want to do some shopping.

My first card uses the OWH Sending Love set. This is an adorable set and just perfect for people, like me, who don't enjoy coloring . Since it's a love set, I thought a pink and brown color combo would be fun. I paper pieced the cups on some pink cardstock. I can see lots of fun ways to use this set.

My second cards uses the OWH Every Hat set. Now, this stamp is just perfect for our heroes to send home to their wives who have had to take over everything while their husbands are deployed. My super talented friend, Sandy Allnock, was so kind to color this special lady stamp for me. (Thanks, Sandy!)

6x6 Cutting formula

OWH featured a fun tutorial last Tuesday with using cutting templates for 6x6 paper pads. The super talented Kathryn designed two different templates using 6 sheets of 6x6 paper to make 8 cards and leaving no scraps leftover. You can see her blog post HERE. I decided I needed to play along since I love my 6x6 papers. I used her 2nd cutting template for my cards.
And here are my 8 cards I made by using Kathryn's cutting formula.

OWH sketch #175 card challenge

It's Sunday today, so that means a new OWH sketch. I can't believe it's up to #175 already! Here's the card sketch.

I'm currently working on My Mind's Eye - Cowboy 6x6. I like it, but the colors are so soft that I feel the need to layer my cards with black for some contrast. I usually use much bolder colors. I think this card came together nicely using the black layers.

ODBD June challenge

It's a new month and a new challenge with Our Daily Bread Designs. And it was exciting to see I was one of the winners from the May challenge.  The challenge for June is Water. I had to search through my stamps to find something to work for this challenge. I saw the cute little minnow set by Stampers Best and knew it would be perfect.
