Patriotic cards from 6x6

Since spring is now upon us here in Washington state, that also means my allergies are fully triggered. And that also means I am suffering my first sinus infection for the season. Yuck! But, I have had lots of time to just sit and make cards. In fact, I've already finished the fun patriotic 6x6 paper pad by Authentique. I completed 30 cards from it. It's a good thing I bought more than 1, because I really like this paper.
Here's the group photo of all 30 cards.

And here are some of the individual cards. There are some other card pictures in past blog posts, as well.

This card was a CASE from Pam Tetreault.

OWH sketch #170 card challenge

I'm really loving this patriotic paper line from Authentique. I plan on making mostly Miss You and Thank You card with it, rather than AnyHero cards. You can't go wrong with red, white, and blue. I really enjoyed making a card using this week's OWH sketch.

Patriotic Miss You

The April's OWH Design Bootcamp lesson was about using odd numbers in the card design. For my card, I included 5 of the blue stars as embellishments. And I think patriotic colors always work, even as a Miss You card.

MWT It's About Time and Flutter by Wednesday #237 card challenges

This week's OWH Midweek Throwdown card challenge is to make a card that has to do with time. And I'm guessing lots of others participating in the challenge will be using the same Hero Arts stamp set that I did. Especially since it's one of the OWH fundraiser sets.

This week's Flutter by Wednesday challenge is a sketch challenge. I did change it from the square size to an A2 card size, but still kept the basic layout of the sketch. And, as always, the other requirement is to add either a fairy or butterfly. My current 6x6 is now down to scraps and wouldn't work for this sketch, so I decided to go with patriotic colors. And I'm still making Miss You cards for Operation Write Home.

OWH sketch #169 card challenge

I really enjoyed playing with OWH's new sketch. I just love all the circle elements in it. And these colors in the current 6x6 I'm using are really growing on me. I'm trying to stick to only Miss You and Thank Your cards right now since those are the ones needed for Operation Write Home.

A Bugs Life!

This has been such a busy week for me so far. Today was the first time I had a chance to make a card. I noticed there are lots of different bug card challenges this week, so it made my stamp choice pretty easy. (I don't own very many bug stamps.)  Oh, and a word of advice. Always wait until the pearl pen is dry before photographing your card. Ask me how I know. (Oops!)

Flutter by Wednesday card challenge #235

This week's Flutter by Wednesday card challenge is an Open Challenge, as long either a butterfly or fairy is included. I started a new 6x6 paper pad and the colors are not my usual color choices. But since I donate most of my cards to Operation Write Home, I try to include a variety of different colors. Miss You cards are always needed, so that's the sentiment I used.

OWH Midweek Throwdown Your Favorite Color Combo card challenge

This week's MWT is to make a card using your favorite color combo. That's easy for me. Pink and Brown! My craft room is even painted in those colors. I really don't have a reason for loving the colors, I just have for many years. Although, it's harder to find that combination in patterned papers right now. Usually it's pink and black or gray.  For my card, I did some paper piecing on this sweet bunny by My Favorite Things.

OWH sketch #167 card challenge

For this week's OWH sketch challenge, I decided to do a masculine and feminine card again. Since we're nearing the Father's Day deadline, I figured a Love you Dad card would be perfect.

stamp - Technique Tuesday
border punch - EK Success
brads - from stash
twine - The Twinery

And since OWH always needs more Miss You cards, this is the feminine card I made.
