This week's Midweek Throwdown is a color challenge using pink and green, with the added challenge of making it a love card. And how perfect that the current 6x6 paper pad I'm working with has both those colors in it.
Welcome to another fun challenge over at Flutter By Wednesday. This week's challenge is to make a card excluding the colors orange and black. And, of course, to include either a butterfly or fairy on the card. Since I'm currently working on some love cards for Operation Write Home, it was pretty easy to avoid the traditional Halloween colors.
Hello and welcome to the second card challenge of October for Cards in Envy. The challenge is to make a spotlight card. This is a technique that is new to me, but very easy. Here's the card that I created.
Here's my take on this week's OWH sketch. Now that I look at it on the computer, I'm thinking I should have had the little owl perched on the top of the sentiment banner. But I still think it works for a nice love card.
Happy Wednesday to everyone! I am SUPER excited to share that I have been chosen to be on the Flutter By Wednesday design team. YAY! There are always fun challenges with lots of wonderful inspiration over there. This week's challenge is a fabulous sketch.
I found some time to get crafty this morning, so it's a good day today! I managed to finish 4 birthday cards for family and friends. And then I finished this card for the current Flutter By Wednesday challenge. It's a recipe challenge requiring 3 patterned papers, 3 embellishments, sparkle and either a butterfly or fairy on the card. Since this card has both too much dimension and glitter, it will not be going in my Operation Write Home box. But it was fun to create something a little different than my normal cards.
Welcome to the first card challenge of October for Cards in Envy. Since Halloween is just around the corner, the challenge is to make a Halloween card. I really prefer the fun costumes for kids, rather than the dark and scary side of Halloween. But for my card, I did include something that's scary to me. Spiders.
Happy World Card Making Day to everyone! I am so excited to be a part of the OWH WCMD blog hop. There are so many talented card-makers participating, you are sure to find some inspiration along the way. Just click HERE to go to start of the blog hop.
The theme this year is to use an OWH card sketch and make a thank you card. Here's the card I created using sketch #179.
This week's MWT was making multiples of the same card. Before being introduced to 6x6 paper pads, I only used 12x12 paper for making cards. And since I don't like to have any leftover scraps, I would always make as many of the same card as I could get out of the paper. This works very well when putting together card kits. This particular kit consists of 24 cards.
There is a current design team call over at Flutter By Wednesday, and I've decided to apply. I just love playing along with their weekly challenges. Participating in card challenges really helps me get out of my comfort zone and try something new. My cards have improved so much since entering challenges; first on the Operation Write Home blog, and then on other blogs. I think being on this DT will continue to provide more inspiration. (And it sounds like lots of fun!)
