Cards in Envy - For the Birds! card challenge

Welcome to the second August challenge for Cards in Envy. The assignment is to make a card using one or more birds on it. Super fun, don't you think? I just love this cute little puffin stamp by Stampers Best. It's a fundraiser stamp for Operation Write Home, so that's a bonus as well. I paper pieced the bow tie and colored the beak and feet with colored pencils. I used a Copic marker to add a light outline as well as some color to the eye.

paper - Doodlebug - Stars & Stripes
stamps - Stampers Best
brads - from stash
die cuts - Spellbinders
marker - Copic
colored pencils - Crayola
Glossy Accents
Versafine and Memento ink

I also added some Glossy Accents to the eye, but it's rather hard to see in the picture.

Thanks for visiting my blog today and I would love to see you come play with us over at Cards in Envy.

Week-2-Week Challenge #4

I am a huge Project Life fan and have been doing a Picture-a-Day album for the past 5 years. I've even almost abandoned traditional scrapbooking and changed to a Project Life style scrapbook for the kids' books. I mostly use Becky Higgins Project Life kits, but occasionally will create my own cards if I can't find the perfect matching ones. I really enjoyed making these journaling cards from a 6x6 by Doodlebug. It matched wonderfully with the pictures of my family taken by Jeni Woodman photography. (Sorry for the blurred faces, but I primarily use my blog for card posts.) I'm entering the current challenge over at Week-2-Week, which is to make your own journaling card.

Here's a closer look at the journaling cards I made.

ODBD August card challenge

The August card challenge for Our Daily Bread Designs is to make a card using brown, green, and pink. Now pink and brown are my absolute favorite colors together, but I wouldn't normally add green into the mix. However, I do have a 6x6 paper pad by Authentique that has some nice patterned papers in those colors.

paper - Authentique - Lively
stamp - Hero Arts
heart die cut - MFT Die-namics
button die cut - Memory Box
twine - Divine Twine
Versafine ink
